Ph.D. Candidate in English Literature at the University of Missouri

Heather Heckman-McKenna is an English Literature Ph.D. Candidate, Research Assistant, and Graduate Instructor at the University of Missouri. Her research interests include British Romanticism and the eighteenth-century, nineteenth-century American literature, and women writers of the period. To date, Heather’s work primarily focuses on power differentials, the overthrow of hegemonic establishments, resignifying of patriarchal ideology, and memory and identity. Heather is also a memoirist and creative nonfiction writer.
